Isn’t it a bummer when your heart chakra is blocked?

If you’re even just a little familiar with my content, you’re going to know that the title to this post is a joke.

Mom, the creative recently got a massage. Part of the time, though, was spent on umblocking her chakras.

To say that I didn’t know anything meaningful about chakras would have been a fair statement . Of course, it also would be accurate to say I was skeptical. This really isn’t much different from my quick journey with astrology.

The result?

Some research, and a new video - Dad Ruins Chakras and (some) New Age practices.

My findings? Like astrology, chakra-related beliefs and practices have been around for thousands of years. Also like astrology, these beliefs were co-opted by white people relatively recently, and turned into something for the mass market. Oh, and this transformation is grifty. Eww.
