People were SO mad

I know I’ve said it before, but I have absolutely no idea what videos will do well. Bottled water did a great job, which was weird because I don’t think of bottled water to be that riveting. Then MLMs bombed - and I thought that was a really good video.

Clearly, I have bad taste.

Then came CBD. The initial returns made it look like it was going to be as successful as live-action Snow White. And then?

2100 views. There was even an extremely brief time when someone new would start the video about every 20 seconds. Sure, that’s nothing for channels that do actual volume - but my channel doesn’t do volume.

You can think of my videos as garage-made, craft beer. Some charming appeal, but suspect quality :)

What was interesting this time, was that it appears about 20% of the views were people that were hate watching. Or, at least, that was the proportion of downvotes the video got. Not only that, but townspeople grabbed their torches and pitchforks and brought them to the comments section.

Mind you, I don’t make these videos to create controversy. The format is to lay out the case, and to end the video with “I hope it’s ruined for you”.

Who knew CBD would be the video where people got big mad?

Most of the commenters were civil. Virtually all of them had personal testimonials (or secondhand ones). Nobody brought actual science. It wasn’t really surprising, but it is kind of disappointing. Responding to the comments is fun - after all, I’m not likely to ever know as much about these topics as I do right after I conclude my script research.

I can only assume that the audience is a bell curve, where I’m unlikely to influence to viewers on either end of the spectrum. I’ll keep trying to work on the mass in the middle, though.

The audio for DRE - Recycling has been recorded, and I’ve started the video production.

The script for DRE - GLP-1s is done. It will be interesting to see how that one is received.

I’m currently researching DRE - TikTok/Insta stores. Woof. What a shit-show. MLMs are a scam for associates at the bottom of the pyramid. These “stores”, on the other hand, are a scam for consumers. I don’t have any idea how to title the video to get the word out.

My big bottleneck in my production workflow is generating the art in the videos. Anyone want to help with that?
