Are FDM printers appliances yet?
FDM printers continue to get better and better, reflecting the huge engineering commitment to do so. That’s great, but let’s discuss what it’s going to take to put FDM into non-hobbyist homes.
$450 Creality K1C at Micro Center!
Get your new Creality K1C at Micro Center for $450! That's almost into SE territory, and a full $150 cheaper than it was selling for a month ago. I guess they're moving units to get ready for the K2 series, but so what? The K1C is what the K1 should have been - fast, high-quality, and pretty much bulletproof. That is, assuming you get the textured build plate :)
To support, or not to support?
If you've been FDM printing for long, you've developed a pretty good sense of when you need supports. You may even know when you can manually take them out of your slicer. But what if your innate instincts are obsolete?
Want a good metallic PETG filament?
I mostly print structural or engineering parts, so 70% of my filament is boring. However, when it's time to do something else, how do you know what filament will look/behave how you want? Check out this metallic PETG for your prop needs!
